A Social Network for Martial Artists!
“The Gentle Arm”. uses an opponents force against them, originally
created to compliment a Samurai’s sword fighting. Very similar to
wrestling.

Comment by John Christopher Callen on April 19, 2011 at 3:39pm My father learned traditional Jiu Jitsu from the japanese, being a member of military intelligence and communication. The discipline/system that he emparted to me was definitely NOT like wrestling. It's original form is more about face to face, hand to hand combat.Negate your opponents attack; control your opponents movement; redirect their energy; manipulate their center of balance; break whatever you have a hold of; take them down; stomp and strike your opponent until he is maimed, crippled, or dead.
Definitely NOT like wrestling.
